Scope and exclusions
Which deliverables are included for my situation and financial year? What work would be outside scope or billed separately?
A practical selection guide
Tax and compliance engagements can differ in scope, people, fees and process. Use this checklist with every provider you are considering, then review the current written terms before deciding.

Record the answer and ask for anything material to be included in the engagement terms.
Which deliverables are included for my situation and financial year? What work would be outside scope or billed separately?
Who will prepare the work, who will review it, and who is my contact if the assigned person is unavailable?
What is the fee for the stated scope? Which events can change it, and how will additional work be approved and priced?
Which channels can I use, when are they monitored, and what response or escalation arrangements are agreed for my engagement?
How should I transfer records? Who can access them, how long are they retained, and how can I request a copy or handover?
Is post-filing or notice-related work part of this scope? Ask which steps, deadlines, fees and client approvals apply.
What will I receive to review before submission? How are corrections, approvals and submission confirmation recorded?
If I change providers, what workpapers and records can be handed over, in what format, and what steps or fees apply?
This page is a selection checklist. It does not rate or make capability, staffing, service, security or pricing claims about other providers. Confirm current details directly with each provider.
